​Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time for registration. In the event that you are late, your session may be cut short or suspended, and you may have to book another appointment. We hope to have your understanding as there may be other patients scheduled after you.

Please collect a queue ticket from the self-registration kiosk, and wait for your number to be displayed on the screen, after which you may proceed to your respective treatment rooms. We seek your kind understanding that queue numbers may not be flashed in sequence.

Your dentist will try their best to commence your session punctually. However, there may be times when your dentist is called upon to handle an emergency, resulting in a longer wait.

First Appointment

Our dentists will examine your condition, identify your needs and go through your treatment plans with you on the first visit. Your dentist may also prescribe medication for pain relief. Your dental procedures may be on the same day as your consultation session, or at the next appointment, depending on your oral health condition and your doctor’s recommendation.

Follow-up Appointment

After the session with your dentist, our staff will arrange for a follow-up appointment that best meets your needs and your dentist’s instructions.

You will also receive a reminder call from our staff the day before your appointment date. In the event that you are unable to make it for your appointment, please inform us as soon as possible, via email at NUHS_Dental@nuhs.edu.sg.

Dental Emergencies

We accept walk-ins in the case of emergencies. You will be attended to by our Dental Officer on duty during office hours. Dental emergencies include having symptoms such as oral swelling, bleeding and acute pain, for 24 hours. However, there is only a limited scope of services provided for emergencies and elective treatments will not be performed.

After office hours, patients in need may head to the NUH Accident and Emergency Department where a Dental Officer on-call will attend to you.

NUCOHS is an integrated oral health centre for both patients and students. Our Dental Officers or Residents-in-training, who are qualified dentists, may attend to you, if you do not request for a specific dentist. However, do note that you will be registered as a private patient, and hence will not be eligible for government subsidies, if you choose your dentist.

Please proceed to the Pharmacy at NUCOHS, Level 6 to collect your medication, if any.

The Pharmacy’s opening hours are as follows:

• Mondays to Fridays – 9.00 am to 5pm
• Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays

All patients of NUCOHS are registered as private patients. Only patients who are referred by polyclinics and CHAS clinics are eligible for government subsidies when they receive treatments at NUCOHS.

Payment can be made via cash or NETS over the counter at any 7-Eleven Stores or Singapore Post Office branches located island wide.

AXS Stations / SAM (Self-Service Automated Machine) / iNETS Kiosks:

• AXS Stations – via NETS, Diners, Citibank VISA and Master cards
• Self-Service Automated Machine (SAM) – via NETS
• iNETS Kiosks – via NETS, cashcard and flashpay cards

ZOOM Payment Plan (For Outpatient Bills Only)

Auto-Pay (formerly known as ZOOM) offers you the convenience of paying your bills without the hassle of waiting in queue after your visit in NUH.  The charges are automatically credited to your pre-authorised credit card by the next working day.  Your bills will be sent to your registered address and may also be viewed on HealthHub on the following working day after your visit.

Medisave

Medisave is a national medical saving scheme which helps individuals set aside part of their income into the Medisave account to meet future personal or immediate family hospitalisation, and day surgery. Do note that non-surgical outpatient dental treatment procedures are currently not covered by the scheme.

Payment can either be made through the Medisave Account, by the patient's company/insurance company or via self-payment. Please inform our staff if you intend to pay for your bill using Medisave and kindly bring along your NRIC/Passport or CPF Membership Card.

If you would like to pay for the bill for your direct family member (your spouse, children, parents or grandparents who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents), please also produce documentary proof of the patient's relation to you. Deduction from more than one nominated Medisave Account is allowed. You will be required to sign a Medisave Authorisation Form, which will authorise the CPF Board to deduct the bill from your Medisave Account. The deductible amount is pending the approval of the CPF board.

CHAS

NUCOHS accepts referrals from CHAS clinics, which entitle patients to subsidies provided by the government. You may find a list of CHAS clinics here.
